Kala is very proud to release Desert Storylines, a range of Ukuleles featuring genuine artwork by three Australian Aboriginal artists.
"My painting is about bushfoods we often go out bush to collect and eat - they are wild passionfruit 'Arrutnenge' and bush banana 'Alangkwe'. We also still eat witchety grubs, honey ants, bush coconut and other foods that grow here in the desert. There are plenty of things to eat if you know where to look. It is important to me to teach the young kids and pass on the knowledge the right way." - Margaret Bloomfield.
Margaret, Evelyn and Chantelle live and work in Santa Teresa, a remote Aboriginal community 100kms South-East of Alice Springs.
A royalty on the sales of each of these ukuleles will be directed to the three artists.
